Absolutely a fiasco from start to finish in the purchase process which fortunately did not result in our buying a home from Fischer!Lack of disclosure of serious sewerage drainage issues and after agreeing to pricing on 24 page document announced that an $85,000 base price increase the day before we were to sign an irrevocable binding contract!Stay away!!
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT!! WARNING...Fischer Homes is a money grab! We had a home built by Fischer Homes in Riverdale subdivision in July 2024. From the time our foundation and basement floor was poured. Two days later, our basement floor cracked in multiple places over the entire floor and discoloration that made our new floor look deplorable. Brian who was the project consultant along with his supervisor Adam P. and the sales consultant all told us that this was normal and to Fischer Homes standards. After we found out no one had ever taken time to look at the floor. When we finally got to closing day. The original person who was handling our closing wasn't available to handle our closing, so we got someone who was late and wasn't prepared. When finally getting back to our new home. There was someone who'd just got there to clean the house when we were ready to move in. This was told to us that this would be done before we got there. One year and 4 months later. We have siding that is falling off our house, we had a wall in our primary bathroom that was 1 inch out of plum over 3ft. We had mold on exposed Framing in the basement that also had exposed nails. We've had 5 foundation cracks that have leaked in the first year. The steel I-beam that spans the distance of the foundation and sits in a beam pocket is 5/8 in lower on one side. The whole tray ceiling in the living room had to be completely redone by drywall taper and painted. The pvc trim boards between the rear windows weren't caulked. Base kitchen cabinet wasn't leveled. Fascia wasn't nailed and was left hanging. We were told that Fischer Homes is has this QUALITY INSPECTION that is a very thorough process!! How is it possible to miss so many major defeats in A NEW home? It's been a year and four months exactly! Missouri Siding who installs exterior finishes for Fischer, had three boxes of siding delivered to our home one week ago. This just so happened to be delivered after we reached out to Matt, who is the Warranty consultant, who has done nothing but lie to us, mislead us through this exhausting warranty process. After 7 weeks went by without hearing anything about the siding replacement that Fischer agreed to. All of a sudden, the siding just so happens to show up. After being told Missouri Siding would be here Wednesday to rectify this. No one should up until Saturday morning. After being here for 1 1/2 hrs. The foreman told me that they were only here to randomly install a few pieces on the back of our home, a few pieces on the side and one piece on the front above the garage. A completely different color of siding!! I don't know what we've done to deserve this kind of treatment from what we thought was a reputable home builder. Considering the life savings that went into building this home. We'd never thought in a million years that we would basically be shown that this is what it is and we can't do anything about it!! ALL POTENTIAL BUYERS... DO YOUR HOMEWORK! DON'T DO IT!!! I couldn't believe that Matt almost begged me to give him a good review, so it looks good to his boss.... this has been the worst experience of our lives!! I'm in need of a legal consultant. Houston Homes and TR Hughes are the way to go.
I have never written a bad review as I own multiple businesses and know people write bad reviews because they may not get their way. I have multiple complaints and most have been dealt with. I 1st noticed when it got warm out, our a/c did not keep up with the temps. My wife and I paid a premium price for this townhouse in Richmond Heights but we can be comfortable in our own home. The inside temperature sometimes is 80 degrees, so I had to buy two extra portable a/c units and fans and it still will not keep it to a reasonable 72. We called 2 HVAC contractors and both said we are waaaay undersized for this much sq. Ft. They also said the return air vents, duct work, and vents were all wrong. We called to get this rectified but they said they couldn't do anything about it. Are next step is to get an attorney.
The service they offer after you sign a property is terrible.I’ve signed up for a house in 2022 September the time line provide to me was 2023 June-July initially, it was same till they started changing field manager multiple times. They will not let you know all the options you can choose for during design center, and if we ask them to add any minor things post the design center(cosmetic nature only) they will not honor the request and if at all they honor the change they will ask you to pay an additional 250 for the options they miss to discuss and by some reason if they have to make changes changes to contract from their side they won’t pay anything back or even fell sorry for the inconvenience. After they changed my field manager multiple times and pushing the timeline multiple times the finally had a date for me and I cancelled my plans as I will to pay 250 per day if there is any delay from my side. And in the last minute after final walkthrough they changed my closing date stating that the city hadn’t approved to close yet and the contract is all written in their favor. I was put in a situation to be rushed to close as I moved out of my old house on the date I was supposed to close.I finally closed before thanks giving 2023.I still have few concerns during/after closing which aren’t resolved yet
We decided to sell our house we had been in over 30 years to look for a home so we could be closer to our grandkids, that’s when we found Payne homes. We were not planning on building but once we met Lonnie and started looking into building we were sold. They made us feel at home and everyone was professional, friendly and helpful. We got our forever home thanks to Payne and their family of employees. We love our home and feel very blessed to have found Payne.
